Dr. Godfrey St. Bernard is a Senior Fellow in SALISES, The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. He obtained a PhD in Social Demography from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada. He is Co-ordinator of the Master of Science in Development Statistics offered in SALISES, UWI, St. Augustine where he is leading the process of training a new generation of specialists with capabilities to address demographic, statistical and methodological challenges that arise in the realm of development studies. His publications include one co-authored book, monographs, journal articles, book chapters and technical papers that traverse the social sciences mainly in the fields of demography and sociology, with special reference to the Caribbean Sub-Region. Dr. St. Bernard has travelled widely presenting numerous scholarly papers at International Conferences and acting as a resource person at several Regional and International Workshops. He is a member of major professional associations that have interests in the social sciences, demography and methodology. He was the President of the Caribbean Studies Association in 2012/2013.
